HDFC Bank posted a consolidated profit of ₹17,830 crore during the September quarter of FY25, with a 6.1% annualized growth and an extraordinary 8.3% growth sequentially on a QoQ basis. Net revenue for the quarter of ₹76,040 crore is up 5.0% QoQ and a steep 14.7% YoY, it added.
Operating expense increased to ₹48,810 crore during the period as compared to YoY growth of 16.1% and QoQ growth of 4.9%. The bank managed to keep aside ₹3,270 crore as compared to YoY growth of 14.3% and QoQ growth of 4.1%. The rise in provisions for the bank is acceptable with caution in the present scenario.
HDFC Bank’s pretax profit increased to ₹23,960 crore, a 5.4% QoQ and 14.3% YoY growth. The bank’s NII for the quarter under review has increased by 10% YoY compared to Q2 FY24, though this is a deceleration from last year’s incredibly high 26% YoY growth. On a QoQ basis, the NII of the bank was modest, recording a growth up from previous quarter’s 3% increase.
The bank has maintained asset quality stable, with gross NPA at 1.4% and net NPA at 0.4% as of September 2024. This once again shows good risk management practices and speaks of a continuous one. Consolidated EPS for the quarter would work out to ₹23.4.
The bank’s PAT after adjustment stood at ₹17,600 crore up 7.9% QoQ and 17.4% YoY. HDFC Bank’s performance is stronger drawn by a steady rise in net revenues, with no relaxation in control over provisions and growing loan books. The management has been very optimistic about the coming quarters and said that the growth would continue here as well.
