Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India’s largest carmaker, has announced that the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has once again postponed the hearing in its ongoing appeal against the Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) order. The hearing, which was scheduled for April 15, 2025, will not be taken up as per the latest NCLAT notice, and a new date will be communicated in due course.
This development is the latest in a series of adjournments since the CCI’s original order dated August 23, 2021, which had imposed penalties on Maruti Suzuki for alleged anti-competitive practices. Since then, the matter has seen multiple reschedulings, with the company and the CCI submitting their respective arguments and written submissions over the past three years. The NCLAT has repeatedly deferred hearings due to various reasons, including paucity of time and administrative constraints.

Maruti Suzuki has kept stakeholders informed through regular disclosures, highlighting its commitment to transparency and regulatory compliance. The company emphasized that it will notify the exchanges once a new hearing date is set by the NCLAT.
Sanjeev Grover, Executive Officer and Company Secretary of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, confirmed the update in a regulatory filing, reiterating the company’s ongoing engagement with the legal process.
