Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has announced a significant boost to its order book, confirming the receipt of a major Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Southern Railway.
The contract, valued at over Rs 145 crore, pertains to crucial electrification and infrastructure work essential for enhancing railway capacity.
The total consideration for the work stands at Rs 145,34,66,865.48 (Rs One Hundred Forty-Five Crore Thirty-Four Lakh Sixty-Six Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-Five and Forty-Eight paisa), including applicable taxes.
The project, awarded by the domestic entity Southern Railway, is scheduled for execution over a period of 540 Days.
The extensive scope of the LOA involves the “Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning” of new infrastructure. This complex work includes the installation of Traction Sub Stations (Scott-Connected), inclusive of Power Quality Compensating Equipment with associated Switching Posts (SP/SSP), necessary for a 2×25 KV AT Feeding System.
Furthermore, the contract mandates the implementation of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and an Automatic Fault Locator (AFL) system.
This infrastructure upgrade is focused on the Jolarpettai Jn. – Salem Jn. (JTJ-SA) Section within the Salem Division of Southern Railway.
The award is directly linked to supporting the ambitious objective of the Mission 3000MT loading target, underlining the strategic importance of the work.
