Adani Wilmar Limited (NSE: AWL, BSE: 543458), a leading food and FMCG company, is set to change its name to AWL Agri Business Limited, pending regulatory approvals. The decision comes after a near-unanimous vote by shareholders via postal ballot, with approximately 99.99% of the total votes polled in favor of the resolution.
The company sought shareholder approval for the name change to better reflect its strategic focus on agri-business. The postal ballot process, which commenced on January 25, 2025, and concluded on February 23, 2025, saw participation from over 10 lakh shareholders.
The results of the postal ballot were scrutinized by Chirag Shah and Associates, Practicing Company Secretaries, who confirmed the fairness and transparency of the process. According to their report, the resolution to change the company’s name was duly passed as a Special Resolution with the requisite majority. The company has already published the notice on its website and the stock exchange websites.
The rebranding of Adani Wilmar to AWL Agri Business Limited signifies a strategic shift towards strengthening its core focus on agricultural operations. With strong shareholder support, the company is poised to embark on a new chapter, leveraging its expertise in the agri-business sector.
