Indian Stock Market on Witnesses Mixed Trends as Key Indices Close with Varied Results

The Indian stock market concluded the trading session with mixed results, as the Sensex ended at 73,085, slightly lower than its previous close. The Nifty 50 also closed at 22,119, reflecting a similar downtrend.

Key Gainers and Losers:

On the positive side, BEL led the gains with an increase of more than 4%, followed closely by Grasim, which rose by over 3%. Eicher MotorsJSW SteelBPCL, and UltraTech Cement also saw notable gains of more than 2%. However, Bajaj AutoCoal IndiaReliance IndustriesBajaj FinanceHDFC Bank, and Adani Ports were among the major losers, contributing to the overall downtrend.

Sectoral Performance:

The Nifty Bank index closed at 48,114, with no significant gainers or losers. However, SBI showed a modest uptrend of more than 1%, accompanied by Federal BankCanara Bank, and Kotak Bank, which also ended in the green.

The Nifty Next 50 index ended higher, driven by RECLTD, which surged by more than 5%, and TVS MotorVBLSiemens, and Adani Green, each gaining over 4%. Other contributors to this uptrend included PFCVedantaL&TBHEL, and HAL.

The BSE 200 index also closed higher, with Tata International rising more than 6%, followed by Supreme Industries and Prestige, which gained more than 6% and 5%, respectively. VBL and RECLTD both rose by over 4%, while SiemensTVS MotorBELPFC, and Adani Green were also key contributors to this increase.

Overall, while the broader market indices ended lower, specific sectors and stocks demonstrated strong performance, indicating a mixed day for Indian equities.
