
Polycab India Limited (NSE: POLYCAB, BSE: 542652) has executed an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to serve as the Project Implementation Agency (PIA) for the BharatNet program. The contract, valued at ₹3002.99 crore (inclusive of GST), involves the design, supply, construction, installation, upgradation, operation, and maintenance of the middle mile network in the Bihar Telecom Circle under Package No. 7.
The project includes a capital expenditure (Capex) of ₹1549.66 crore, operational expenditure (Opex) for newly constructed networks of ₹929.79 crore, and Opex for existing networks of ₹523.53 crore. The construction phase is set to be completed within three years, followed by a ten-year maintenance contract.
Manita Carmen A. Gonsalves, Vice President-Legal and Company Secretary of Polycab India Limited, confirmed the agreement in a filing with the stock exchanges.
This significant contract win for Polycab India underscores its growing role in India’s digital infrastructure development, particularly in enhancing rural connectivity through the BharatNet initiative.
