Mumbai, Indian equity markets witnessed a robust second straight session of gains today, with benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 closing significantly higher .

The Sensex climbed 676 points to settle at 81,273.75, while the Nifty 50 advanced 245.65 points, closing at 24,876.95. This broad-based buying activity was particularly prominent in the auto, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and banking sectors, with key players like SBI, Tata Motors, and HUL emerging as top performers.

Analysts are closely monitoring the Nifty’s performance, noting that its close above its 20-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) is a clear indication of short-term bullishness. However, a significant resistance level near 25,000 points could potentially trigger profit booking by traders.

The market’s ability to decisively breach this level will be crucial, as a breakthrough could pave the way for further upside, potentially pushing the index towards 25,250–25,500 in the upcoming sessions.

In contrast to the broader market enthusiasm, the initial public offering (IPO) of BlueStone Jewellery received modest interest, reflecting a cautious undertone within the mid-cap segment.

Tata Motors Ltd : The auto giant was the top performer among the listed companies, gaining 3.50% to close at ₹700.10. With a market capitalisation of ₹2,57,756.54 crore, the stock traded within a 52-week range of ₹542.55 to ₹1,142.00.
