PNC Infratech Limited (NSE Symbol: PNCINFRA) announced that it has become the Lowest (L1) Bidder for the building of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi.
This announcement caused the company’s shares to rise in value. The financial bids for this significant project were opened on 2 September 2025.
Development of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport Varanasi SH: Extension of Runway along with re-carpeting and strengthening of existing runway and allied works” is the project for which the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has declared PNC Infratech as the Lowest (L1) Bidder.
This domestic contract is valued at Rs. 2,97,01,47,756.95 (approximately Rupees Two Hundred Ninety Seven Crore One Lakh Forty Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Six and Ninety Five Paisa), exclusive of GST. The project is slated for completion within an eighteen (18) month time period.
On 3 September 2025 , following the announcement of the bid outcome, PNC Infratech’s equity performance demonstrated investor confidence.
The stock, which had previously closed at Rs. 303.90, opened higher at Rs. 313.00. It reached an intraday high of Rs. 314.90 . This positive market reaction underscores the perceived value and strategic importance of securing such a large-scale infrastructure project.
