Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (Motherson) has announced the successful completion of its joint venture with the Taiwan-based Macauto Industrial Co., Ltd., marking a significant expansion of its automotive component portfolio.
The finalisation of the partnership, which took place on February 27, 2026, follows the fulfillment of all necessary conditions precedent.
The joint venture has been established under the name Motherson Macauto Solutions Limited (MMASL).
Under the terms of the agreement, Motherson maintains a controlling interest with an equity shareholding of 50% plus one share, while Macauto holds the remaining 50% minus one share.
This collaboration leverages the strengths of both entities: Motherson’s extensive global manufacturing reach and Macauto’s specialised expertise as a company listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation.
MMASL is set to become a key player in the design, development, and manufacturing of sophisticated automotive interior solutions. The joint venture’s primary focus includes:
- Sunshade Systems: Advanced door, window, and roof sunshades.
- Luggage Management: High-quality luggage cover systems.
- Aerodynamics: Innovative wind deflectors and allied composite products.
These products are designed for a wide range of automotive applications, positioning the company to meet the evolving demands of global car manufacturers for increased comfort and functionality.
The road to this completion began in August 2025, with the initial execution of the Joint Venture Agreement (JVA), followed by the incorporation of MMASL in September 2025.
