
In a significant boost to its order book, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)has secured a new contract from NTPC Limited, according to a BSE regulatory filing. The contract is for the Main Plant Package of the 3×800 MW Telangana Stage – II supercritical thermal power project.
The order value is over Rs 13,500 crore, excluding GST, and the scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and testing of the main plant package, including civil and structural works. The main plant package comprises a boiler, turbine, and generator.
The completion deadline for the project is 62 months from the date of the Notification of Award, which was received on March 29, 2026. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited had emerged as a successful bidder for this project in October 2024 and received a Limited Notice to Proceed in November 2024 for initiating the basic engineering work.
The transaction is not a related party transaction, and the promoter group has no interest in the entity that awarded the contract. The company has complied with SEBI LODR Regulation 30 by disclosing the details of the order to the stock exchanges.
This order is a significant addition to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited’s order book, showcasing the company’s capabilities in the thermal power sector. The company operates in the heavy electrical equipment industry, catering to the power and industrial sectors.
