NCLT Kochi Registers Section 7 Insolvency Plea Against BPL Limited

BPL Limited is facing insolvency proceedings after a creditor filed an application under Section 7 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

According to a BSE filing, the application has been registered as Case No. KOB C.P. (IB) 10/2026 with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Kochi.

The company has been granted an opportunity to file its objections in the matter. As of now, no further orders have been passed in respect of the said application.

The creditor is requesting the NCLT to act on the order of the Supreme Court of India. However, it may be noted that the review petition filed by the company is yet to be listed and heard.

The company clarifies that the application filed by the creditor is not expected to have any financial or operational impact, and business activities continue as normal. The management, in consultation with its legal counsel, is taking appropriate steps to file its objections before the Tribunal.

This development is likely to be closely watched by investors and stakeholders. The company’s business stability remains a key focus area for the management.
