
Vodafone Idea Limited has acquired a 26% stake in MTK Quantum Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a renewable energy company, for Rs 4,33,22,500, as per a BSE filing.
The acquisition is aimed at complying with regulatory requirements for captive power plants under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, and the Indian Electricity Rules, 2005. This move will also enable the company to procure cost-effective renewable energy.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in approximately six months, in one or more tranches. MTK Quantum Green Energy Pvt Ltd is a special purpose vehicle formed for the purpose of owning and operating a captive power plant.
The company has an authorized share capital of Rs 15,00,000 and a paid-up share capital of Rs 1,00,000.
