Markets in the News: Nifty 50 Crashes Downward as Growth Stocks Plunge

As of 31 March 2023, the bank’s assets exceeded ₹10 lakh crore, and in the second quarter of 2024, the bank surpassed a net profit of ₹2,000 crore. However, the most recent trading session turned out to be hostile with a sharp dip.

In addition, the shares of another key player in the Adani Group fell as well, this time by 4.90%, which resulted in an LTP of ₹2,691. AEL is an Ahmedabad based company engaged in the agri fresh, mining and more importantly infrastructure sectors. The company reported a figure of ₹22,517 crore for revenues in Q2 recently, and its operational capabilities still look untarnished. However, today due to the market prevailing trends, the company’s stock pricing suffered a decline.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL): Decreased by 4.82%.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, one of India’s state-run largest oil and gas companies in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, registered the LTP drop in share equity price of 4.82% to LTP of ₹305.9. For example, Q2 profits were noted at ₹2,397 crores, however BPCL shares were still aggressively sold off in the stock market today.

In the end, Nifty 50 turned out to be a general pressure day for all as there was selling in all sectors depicting the fear of the investors in the stock market.
