Ashok Leyland Bags ₹297.85 Crore Order from Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation

Ashok Leyland (NSE: ASHOKLEY, BSE: 500477) has secured a significant order from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) for the supply of 320 Fully constructed buses using BS VI diesel fuel type 12M low floor. The order, valued at approximately ₹297.85 crores, is a major boost for the commercial vehicle manufacturer.

Modern BS VI technology, including Ashok Leyland’s cutting-edge iGen 6 system and a sturdy H-Series engine with an 184 kW (246 hp) rating, would be installed in the buses. These 12-meter ultra-low entry rear engine buses are designed for city operations and come equipped with front and rear air suspension for enhanced passenger comfort.

According to the official filing, the order was awarded following a standard tender process, adhering to prudent business norms, terms, and conditions. Delivery of the buses is scheduled between June 2025 and August 2025.

Ashok Leyland confirmed that this order does not involve any related party transactions and that the promoter/promoter group/group companies have no interest in TNSTC.

This order underscores Ashok Leyland’s continued leadership in providing advanced and efficient public transportation solutions and strengthens its position in the commercial vehicle market.
