
HDFC Bank Limited (NSE: HDFCBANK, BSE: 500180), India’s largest private sector bank, has announced its operational performance for the fourth quarter (Q4) of the financial year ending March 31, 2025. The bank reported robust growth in advances and deposits while maintaining its focus on liquidity and customer preferences.
The average advances under management for Q4 FY2025 stood at ₹26,955 billion, reflecting a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 7.3% compared to ₹25,125 billion in Q4 FY2024 and a sequential increase of 2.6% over ₹26,276 billion in Q3 FY2025. Period-end advances under management reached ₹27,735 billion as of March 31, 2025, marking a YoY growth of 7.7%. Retail loans grew by approximately 9%, while commercial and rural banking loans surged by 12.8%. However, corporate and wholesale loans declined by about 3.6%, indicating cautious lending in these segments.

The bank’s average deposits for Q4 FY2025 rose to ₹25,279 billion—a robust YoY growth of 15.8% compared to ₹21,836 billion in Q4 FY2024—and a sequential increase of 3.1% over ₹24,528 billion in Q3 FY2025. Period-end deposits totaled ₹27,145 billion as of March-end, up by 14.1% YoY from ₹23,798 billion and by 5.9% sequentially from ₹25,638 billion as of December-end. CASA deposits grew modestly by 3.9% YoY to ₹9,445 billion at the end of March but surged by 8.2% sequentially from ₹8,727 billion in December 2024.
Time deposits saw significant growth of 20.3% YoY to ₹17,700 billion as customers increasingly opted for fixed-term savings instruments amid evolving market conditions.
As part of its strategic initiatives during the quarter ended March 31, the bank securitized or assigned loans worth ₹107 billion, bringing the year-to-date total to ₹570 billion.
