Hyundai Motor India Announces ₹694 Crore Investment for Tooling Centre to Boost Manufacturing

Hyundai Motor India Limited (NSE: HYUNDAI, BSE: 544274) has unveiled plans to establish a state-of-the-art Tooling Centre in India with an investment of approximately ₹694 crore. This strategic move aims to enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities and streamline its supply chain operations.

The proposed Tooling Centre will focus on the local manufacturing of stamping tools and vehicle panels. By reducing reliance on external suppliers, Hyundai intends to achieve greater operational efficiency and ensure timely project execution. The initiative is also expected to strengthen the company’s overall manufacturing infrastructure.

According to Hyundai’s official statement, the establishment of the Tooling Centre is a part of its commitment to ‘Make in India’ and aims to support the growing demands of the Indian automotive market. Industry experts believe this investment will not only reinforce Hyundai’s supply chain but also contribute to the local economy by generating employment and fostering technological advancement.

The decision to invest ₹694 crore in the Tooling Centre was approved during Hyundai’s recent board meeting on March 24, 2025. Pradeep Chugh, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer at Hyundai Motor India Limited, confirmed the development in a regulatory filing.
