Infosys (INFY), a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, has announced a strategic, long-term collaboration with Lufthansa Group (LHG), a global aviation group, and Lufthansa Systems GmbH (LSY), a leading airline IT provider. The partnership seeks to accelerate digital transformation and drive innovation within the aviation industry.
As part of this engagement, LSY and Infosys will establish a dedicated Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru, India. This GCC aims to enhance Lufthansa Group’s software and product development, while also increasing support for LSY’s products catering to external airline market customers. The center will focus on developing future-ready and sustainable aviation IT products and data-driven solutions, leveraging the capabilities of Infosys Topaz, an AI-first offering utilizing generative AI technologies. These solutions are designed to help LHG and LSY customers improve their aviation safety, efficiency, customer experience, and overall competitiveness, while also enabling them to manage fluctuating demand.
The GCC is expected to accelerate Lufthansa Group’s digital transformation through the adoption of modern technologies and artificial intelligence. Working in close collaboration with LSY, the GCC will enhance existing solutions across critical functions such as finance, flight navigation, network and schedule design, and aircraft and crew operations. This initiative is designed to address challenges such as volatile fuel prices, increasing operational complexities, and global political uncertainties that impact the aviation industry.
Infosys brings to the table its expertise in digitalization and innovation, using AI and data-driven solutions to optimize operations and enhance passenger experiences. By leveraging Infosys Topaz and industry cloud solutions like Infosys Cobalt Airline Cloud, the partnership aims to pave the way for a new era of sustainable and efficient air travel. Over the years, Infosys has collaborated with industry leaders, including Aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturers, top global airlines, and digital-native travel platform and solution providers, to deliver innovative technology solutions and industry expertise across the aviation value chain.
