
larsen & Toubro (L&T), in partnership with Spain’s Lantania, has secured a large overseas contract from ACWA Power to build the Ras Mohaisen Desalination Plant in Saudi Arabia.The plant, with a capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day, will provide drinking water to nearly one million people in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Baha regions.
The project involves design, construction, and commissioning of a seawater reverse osmosis desalination system, along with intake and outfall facilities, pumping stations, and a solar PV plant for sustainable operations.
This project is a significant step in L&T’s expansion in the Middle East, reinforcing its expertise in water infrastructure. With growing demand for desalination and sustainable water solutions, L&T aims to play a key role in addressing water security challenges in the region.
This marks L&T’s second major desalination project in Saudi Arabia, strengthening its presence in the market and further demonstrating its commitment to global infrastructure development.
