Daily Stock Market Wrap – April 25, 2025

Nifty 50 saw mixed momentum but ended in red. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Bank also remained under pressure with no gainers.

Nifty 50:

HDFCLIFE topped the gains with an increase of 4.19%, while MARUTI followed closely with a rise of 3.18%. BHARTIARTL rose 1.70%, SUNPHARMA was up 0.89%, and POWERGRID edged up 0.74%. On the other side, BAJAJFINSV fell 5.61% and BAJFINANCE declined 5.27%. TRENT dropped 4.76%, TATAMOTORS lost 3.32%, SBIN was down 3.07%, and ULTRACEMCO slipped 1.97%.

Bank Nifty:

The banking index stayed entirely in the red. AUBANK declined 4.26%, FEDERALBNK was down 3.57%, and SBIN dropped 3.07%. IDFCFIRSTB lost 3.02%, PNB declined 2.66%, CANBK fell 2.14%, and BANKBARODA was down 1.43%.

Nifty Next 50:

JSWENERGY led the gainers, rising 2.93%. LODHA followed with a 2.85% gain, DLF rose 1.73%, HYUNDAI added 1.68%, ICICIPRULI increased 1.28%, and IOC moved up 1.08%.

Among the laggards, ADANIPOWER dropped 3.49%, DMART fell 3.13%, RECLTD slipped 2.94%, ADANIGREEN was down 2.86%, HAL lost 2.81%, PNB declined 2.66%, and BAJAJHLDNG dropped 2.59%.

Today’s session was impacted by pressure on financials. However, selective buying was seen in auto, insurance, and energy stocks. The market remained rangebound and volatile throughout the day.

Stock Market Holiday tomorrow Due to Labour Day Observance

The stock exchanges, NSE and BSE, will be closed on May 1st in observance of Labour Day, with trading set to resume on May 2nd. Additionally, both commodity and foreign exchange markets will also be closed for the day.
