Market update: Nifty 50 in strong uptrend while major shares soar

Major stocks gained on a strong upward curve on Monday as the Nifty 50 Index maintained its uptrend path. Given below are some key gainer along with the rally they caused for the bulls on the day.

Cipla Ltd.

Cipla, one of the major pharmaceutical firms from Mumbai, rose by a substantial 9.50 per cent and LTP stood at ₹1,553. The pharmaceutical firm in the last one year has generated more than 29 percent return for the investors. The annual revenues of the pharmaceutical firm in FY23 stood at ₹22,753 crore and in the quarter ended September, net profit for Cipla touched ₹1,303 crore, which is yet again proof of its robust financials.

Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T):

Industrial and technology, engineering, power, IT and financial services major Larsen & Toubro Ltd also witnessed shares going up by 6.23%.The last traded price is ₹3,620. This revenue has been recorded by L&T, the Mumbai based conglomerate for the year FY23-24 which amounts to ₹2.21 lakh crores. Last quarter’s report shows how it has on the one hand consolidated its profitability and on the other its strength and diversity by achieving a remarkable net profit of ₹3,395 crores.


ONGC:

ONGC, a state-owned oil and natural gas corporation based in New Delhi, went up 2.04% with LTP at ₹267. Over the last calendar year, ONGC returned more than 43%. ONGC revenue for the year 2023 stands at an impressive ₹6.93 lakh crore, reinforcing its position as one of the biggest energy players.

The upward move of the Nifty 50 on today reflects investor confidence in both established and growth-oriented companies across sectors, as key stocks such as Cipla, L&T, and ONGC are doing so well.
