Sensex
The Sensex at the end of the day stood at 79,802 but remained just short of the eagerly awaited 80,000 mark. It did touch this level during intraday trading but could not hold onto it and slid back due to profit booking.

Nifty 50

Nifty 50 finished at 24,131 showing a fair pickup. This trend was mostly positive due to Bharti Airtel, which registered a very good pickup at above 4.4percent; Sun Pharma was almost of the 2%. , significant gainers here are Cipla, M&M, Tata Consumer, ONGC, and UltraTech Cement at 2 per cent or better gain. Gainers of sectoral kinds have appeared fresh and new this time, especially those featured in top gainers of the session.

Bank Nifty

The Bank Nifty closed at 52,055 in the green. However, the movement was rather flat with neither significant gainers nor losers. ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and HDFC Bank were up marginally but lacked the momentum to sway the index.

Nifty Next 50

Nifty Next 50 ended at 70,726: Up on stellar shows of Adani Green that had rallied more than 20 percent and Adani Transmission up over 13 percent; LICI and Ambuja Cements are others on the list that went up by more than 4 per cent.

BSE 200

BSE 200 closed at 11,123 continuing upswing. Key drivers include a more-than-21-per cent gain for Adani Green and over 15 percent for Adani Transmission while LICI, Bharti Airtel, Divi’s Labs, and Ambuja Cements made key contributions in the direction to which the index swung upward.

Adani Group stocks again dominated the markets as both major and mid-cap indices were led by their stocks. It was a moderate market sentiment, with selective buying across sectors.
