Daily Stock Market Wrap – May 12, 2025

Market

Markets saw a sharp rally today with broad-based gains across indices. The Nifty 50 index experienced a significant increase of more than 3%, concluding at 24,924.70. Nifty Bank jumped more than 3% as well, ending at 55,387. Nifty Next 50 outperformed with a rise of over 4%, finishing the day at 65,077. The Sensex also surpassed the 82,000 threshold, increasing by 3%, signifying one of the most robust trading sessions in recent months.

Nifty 50:

ADANIENT led the rally with a rise of 7.73%. INFY followed closely, rising 7.69%. SHRIRAMFIN jumped 7.16%, TRENT moved up 6.79%, and WIPRO gained 5.99%. HCLTECH and JIOFIN also posted gains of nearly 6%.

Among the few losers, INDUSINDBK fell 3.45% and SUNPHARMA dropped 3.15%.

Bank Nifty:

All major banking names ended higher. AXISBANK rose 4.64%, ICICIBANK added 4.51%, IDFCFIRSTB was up 4.41%, and PNB gained 4.18%. FEDERALBNK also moved higher by 3.85%. No stocks closed in red.

Nifty Next 50:

ADANIENSOL gained 8.33% to lead the segment. INDIGO rose 7.82%, IRFC was up 7.71%, DLF climbed 7.65%, and both RECLTD and PFC gained around 7.5%.

On the downside, only two stocks saw declines — DIVISLAB dropped 1.29%, and HAL slipped 1.25%.

The market was extremely bullish today, with Nifty posting a gain of over 3% after a long gap. The session reflected strong sentiment and a clear uptrend across the board.
