Narayana Hrudayalaya Limited , a leading healthcare provider in India, today announced the groundbreaking of its new super-specialty hospital, Narayana Health City, Kolkata, in New Town, Kolkata. The foundation stone for the 1,100-bed facility was laid by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt. Mamata Banerjee.

The new hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is designed to provide world-class healthcare services to the people of Eastern India. The project is being developed in phases, with the first phase comprising 350 beds expected to commence operations in fiscal year 2028-29.

Narayana Health plans to invest approximately INR 9,000 million (₹900 crore) in the first phase of the Narayana Health City, Kolkata.

The rationale behind the new hospital is the high patient footfall at existing Narayana Health Group hospitals in the Kolkata region, coupled with the potential for further growth in demand for the Company’s affordable and quality healthcare services. Narayana Health aims to serve the population of West Bengal with best-in-quality clinical care and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Narayana Health’s new Narayana Health City, Kolkata, represents a significant expansion of its healthcare footprint in Eastern India. With a phased development approach and a substantial investment, the hospital aims to meet the growing demand for quality and affordable healthcare services in the region. The facility is expected to significantly improve patient access to advanced medical care.
