After a strong rally in the previous session, markets cooled off today. Nifty 50 fell 1.3% to close at 24,578, while Bank Nifty also ended lower at 54,940. Nifty Next 50 slipped slightly to finish at 65,065. The market overall was in a consolidation phase following Monday’s surge.
Nifty 50:
Leading the index, BEL saw a 4.06% increase. JIOFIN gained 1.83%, HEROMOTOCO added 1.77%, and DRREDDY ended up 1.04%.

On the downside, INFY fell 3.63% after yesterday’s sharp rally. ETERNAL dropped 3.34%, POWERGRID lost 3.19%, and HCLTECH closed 3.02% lower. TCS and HINDALCO also saw notable losses.
Bank Nifty:
Despite the index closing in red, select banking names held up. CANBK gained 3.89%, BANKBARODA rose 2.62%, PNB added 1.98%, and FEDERALBNK finished up 1.83%.

Nifty Next 50:
CANBK extended gains in this index as well. HAL rose 3.81%, BANKBARODA climbed 2.62%, and DIVISLAB added 2.34%. ADANIGREEN and PNB also showed strength.
Among the laggards, SWIGGY dropped 3.09%, RECLTD was down 2.53%, LODHA slipped 2.48%, GAIL fell 2.35%, BRITANNIA lost 2.15%, and MOTHERSON edged down 1.83%.
The market remained in a pullback mode today. After a big upmove yesterday, traders appeared to be taking profits. Overall, the mood was calm and corrective, with stock-specific action dominating the session.
