Stock Market Update 14 Nov: Sensex, Nifty 50, and Major Indices End on a Positive Note

Indian stocks ended the day in the green today as most indices are pointing higher from a sectoral perspective, although the market shows a general euphoria. The BSE Sensex closed at 77,580. This upward trend is supported by investors’ fresh confidence in major stocks.

Nifty 50, however, ended in the positive territory with 23,532. The gains were largely on account of Eicher Motors, which increased by over 6%, emerging as the top gainer of the index. Hero MotoCorp added further to the gains with an increase of more than 2% while Grasim was up by over 1.2%. The support came from Kotak Bank, HDFC Life, and Reliance Industries to nudge Nifty 50.

Nifty Bank almost closes flat at 50,179. The space saw major contributors from stocks like AU Small Finance Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank as the banking index moves north for a second consecutive day.

Nifty Next 50, at close, rose to 67,408. Jio Financial Services emerged as a gainer as it jumped by more than 6%. Zomato registered a gain of nearly 4% while Motherson advanced by over 3%. Besides, some other notable stocks of the index were Bajaj Holdings, Naukri , Jindal Steel, Bosch Ltd, Varun Beverages (VBL), and DLF, which also contributed to the index’s rise.

The BSE 200 closed at 10,803, underlining the positive trend. The two big drivers were Eicher Motors and Jio Financial Services, both up over 6%. Policybazaar too was a gainer, that rose by 5%, while Deepak Nitrite, Suzlon, and Zomato helped in that lift for BSE 200.

Today’s session at the market opened with an all-round, general tendency to go up, showing tremendous rises in the automobile, banking, and more importantly, the tech-driven sectors that would augur very well for anyone looking to invest.
