Indian Markets on 5th Dec: Sensex Ends at 81,765, Market Closes in Green

The Sensex ended at 81,765 with a marginal rise and closing in the green. Overall, the mood was optimistic as investors remained upbeat and saw a spurt in several sectors.

The Nifty 50 ended at 24,708 with an all-positive trend throughout the day. This is where Trent emerged at the top, surging ahead by over 3%. Infosys came in right behind with a gain of over 2%. This was supported by TCS, Titan, and Dr. Reddy’s, all of whom also gained over 2%. Bharti Airtel, Wipro, and Bajaj Finance also helped lift the index higher. It provided significant resistance in the face of any down pressure.

The Nifty Bank closed at 53,603 with a small upward move. The gainers were led by ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank, AU Bank, and SBI. These stocks helped the index climb steadily, showing strength in the banking sector.

The Nifty Next 50 ended the day at 72,487, and has a good gain. Leading index gainer Zomato zoomed by over 4%, followed by Bosch Ltd. with more than a 3% gain. Some stocks like Motherson, JSW Energy, and Varun Beverages surged above 2% levels that are driving the index further high.

The BSE 200 closed at 11,398, maintaining its positive momentum. The gains were spearheaded by IGL, which surged by over 6%, making it the top gainer of the index. Flurochem and Zomato followed with increases of more than 4%. Tata Elxsi, Motherson, Timken India, MRF, and Bosch Ltd. also contributed to the index’s uptrend.

Overall, the Indian stock market witnessed an uptrend today as new names found their way to the top gainers list further boosting investor confidence.
