Suzlon Energy Limited (NSE: SUZLON, BSE: 532667) has secured a significant new order of 204.75 MW from Jindal Green Wind 1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables, boosting their cumulative Commercial & Industrial (C&I) order to an impressive 907.20 MW. This marks Suzlon’s largest order in the C&I segment to date.

Under this third phase of the agreement, Suzlon will supply 65 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each boasting a 3.15 MW capacity and featuring Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT). These turbines will be deployed to power Jindal Steel’s manufacturing facilities located in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, directly supporting captive consumption and driving more sustainable operational practices within the steel plants. The project is to be executed in the Karur region of Tamil Nadu.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of the Suzlon Group, emphasized the role of this enhanced collaboration in advancing the adoption of low-emission steel production across India. Bharat Saxena, President of Jindal Renewables, underscored their organization’s dedication to championing sustainability within the industry. JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, sees Suzlon uniquely positioned to drive the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors like steel and heavy industries.

This expanded partnership between Suzlon and Jindal Renewables signifies a substantial stride toward decarbonizing India’s vital steel industry. The 907.20 MW wind energy project not only underscores the growing viability of renewable energy solutions for heavy industries, but also positions Suzlon as a key enabler of a greener, more sustainable future for Indian manufacturing.
