The Indian stock market saw a good day today, with the Sensex closing at INR 77,500, a modest gain. Following a phase of lackluster movement, buyers returned to the scene, driving indices higher on all fronts.

The Nifty 50 closed at INR 23,508, having risen 1%, led mainly by Tata Consumer, which grew over 6%, followed by BHEL, which rose more than 5%, and Trent, which appreciated over 4%. Other big movers in the rally were Coal India and Larsen & Toubro, both of them rising over 4%, whereas IDFC First Bank rose 3%. Heron MotoCorp, Nestle India, Titan, and Tata Steel were the other stocks participating in the bull run.
The Nifty Bank ended at INR 49,587, with firm buying in banking shares. Punjab National Bank was the top gainer, rising more than 5%, followed by IndusInd Bank, which rose over 3%. IDFC First Bank also rose over 3%, with Canara Bank, State Bank of India, and Federal Bank contributing to the upbeat mood in the sector.
The Nifty Next 50 closed at INR 63,127, 1.5% higher, led by NHPC, which rose over 7%, followed by BHEL, which rose over 6%, and GAIL, which rose by 6%. IRCTC and JSW Energy also helped the rally, rising over 5%, with PNB, HAL, and Lodha lending support to the index.
The BSE 200 ended at INR 10,665, up marginally. RVNL led the pack, gaining over 9%, followed by NHPC and Mazagon Dock, both up over 6%. UPL and GAIL also went up over 6%, while BHEL, Tata Consumer, IRCTC, and JSW Energy aided the overall market upmove.
After a prolonged period of sideways movement, today’s session saw a renewed buying interest, with minimal selling pressure. The market rebounded as buyers dominated, pushing major indices higher.
