The contract, valued at Rs. 45,18,86,400 (approximately ₹45.19 crore) excluding GST, marks a major win for the company’s consultancy division.

The project focuses on the construction of a proposed 4-lane extra-dosed bridge over the Muriganga River. This critical infrastructure piece will feature approaches connecting Kachuberia on Sagar Island with Kakdwip in the South 24 Parganas district.

Sagar Island is a site of immense geographic and religious importance, and this new bridge is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and socio-economic activity in the region.

RITES’ Role as Project Management Consultant:

Under the terms of the agreement, RITES will serve as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) and Authority Engineer. Their comprehensive scope of work includes:

  • Entire Design Supervision: Overseeing the technical blueprints and engineering specifications for the extra-dosed structure.
  • Construction Supervision: Ensuring the project meets stringent quality and safety standards throughout its development.
  • Consultancy Services: Providing specialized expertise for the bridge and its associated approaches.

The project is slated for execution over a period of 48 months. This long-term contract provides RITES with steady revenue visibility within its domestic consultancy portfolio.

The company officially intimated the stock exchanges (NSE and BSE) regarding this development on March 7, 2026, in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations.

RITES further clarified that this transaction between a Government Company and a State Government does not fall under related party transactions and is being conducted at “arm’s length”.
