The Tata Power Company Limited , a dominant force in India’s integrated power sector, has announced a landmark strategic collaboration with Salesforce, the global leader in AI CRM, to digitally accelerate the nation’s transition toward clean energy.
This partnership aims to bolster Tata Power’s rapidly expanding green businesses, including rooftop solar (RTS), electric vehicle (EV) charging, and smart home solutions.
By integrating Salesforce’s Agentforce Sales, Service, and Marketing suites, Tata Power is building a secure, intelligent ecosystem powered by automation and data-driven insights.
This “digital backbone” is designed to streamline partner and customer journeys, offering real-time performance tracking and end-to-end digitisation of the renewable energy value chain.
In a move to further enhance delivery standards, Tata Power has developed a proprietary deep learning layer on top of the Salesforce platform.
This allows for a “zero-touch” quality and safety validation process, providing instant on-site verification and automated warranty generation for its Solaroof customers.
Investors will note that this digital transformation comes on the back of explosive growth for the company’s renewable segment.
Driven by the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, Tata Power’s residential rooftop solar business has surged by over 200% in the last two financial years.
More impressively, the company’s total solar portfolio revenues have seen a fivefold increase between FY2020 and FY2025.
Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power, emphasised that digital capability is now a “critical enabler” for scale and speed. He noted that the collaboration will help build a future-ready ecosystem to meet India’s net-zero ambitions.
With a diversified portfolio of 16.3 GW, Tata Power currently commands 7.5 GW of clean energy generation, representing 46% of its total capacity.
The company serves approximately 13 million customers nationwide and remains committed to achieving Net Zero by 2045.
Arundhati Bhattacharya, President & CEO of Salesforce South Asia, highlighted that Tata Power’s digital-first approach serves as a catalyst for national transformation, harnessing AI and automation to drive long-term climate resilience.
