RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a prominent Navratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Railways, has secured a significant new contract from the South East Central Railway.

The company received the formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the project on March 6, 2026.

Project Details and Financial Impact

The total estimated value of the order is Rs. 26,72,60,140/- (approximately ₹26.73 crore). This domestic contract reinforces RailTel’s position as a key player in the development of India’s railway telecommunication infrastructure.

The scope of the work is comprehensive, involving the supply, transportation, trenching, laying, and backfilling of infrastructure.

Additionally, the project includes specialized tasks such as horizontal directional drilling, HDPE pipe insertion, and the jointing and termination of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC).

RailTel is expected to complete the project within a defined timeframe, with the execution deadline set for March 5, 2027. This adds to the company’s growing order book of domestic infrastructure projects.

In its regulatory filing, RailTel confirmed that none of its promoters or group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract. Furthermore, the deal does not fall under “related party transactions,” ensuring the contract was awarded at arm’s length.
