Update on the Market: Nifty 50 Grows in Value When Other Stocks Are Performing Differently

A small positive shift was observed in the Nifty 50 Index which indicates a slightly positive but mixed pattern in the market. Shriram Finance, Adani Enterprises, and ICICI Bank were some of the notable top gainers and grew indicating strength and growth. Still, some equities did not do well for the day, as was the case for Coal India and Bajaj Auto, thus leading to the mixed results today. To this end, below is a summary on the major gainers and losers of the day.

Shriram Finance: Today, shares of Shriram Finance Ltd. were up 5.35% and last traded at LTP of ₹3,258. The company has also returned well over 70% to its shareholders in the past one year. Established in 1979, Shriram Finance has grown into a financial behemoth in India with over 75,000 employees and 3,000 branches across the country demonstrating its large scale operations in the country.

Adani Enterprises: Another key gainer Adani Enterprises increased by 4.07% with an LTP of ₹2,803. Based in Ahmedabad, this company has been able to give investors a good 21% annual return. Above and beyond the 8500 employees, Adani enterprises is a force to reckon with in the Indian market.

ICICI Bank: Stock of ICICI Bank also performed well but central bank was able to increase its stock by 3.10% and close at LTP of ₹1,294. The bank has also registered a return of 39% over that period, indicating a good performance. Established in 1994, with headquarters in Mumbai, ICICI Bank has more than 1.8 lakh employees and revenue of about USD 1,300 crores.

Coal India: Among losers, Coal India dropped 3.76% to end the day at LTP of ₹443.7. This state-owned company engaged in the production of coal market and promotes under the ministry of coal, has reported revenue earnings of ₹1.5 lakh crores, notwithstanding the dip today. Coal India was founded in 1975 and its headquarters is located in Kolkata, India.
