In a significant stride for India’s digital public infrastructure, LTIMindtree, a global technology consulting and digital solutions company and a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited, has been awarded a substantial mandate worth ₹792 Crore by the Government of India’s Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

This pivotal project, known as PAN 2.0, is set to fundamentally transform India’s Permanent Account Number (PAN) infrastructure.

As a crucial Government to Citizen (G2C) initiative, the PAN 2.0 project is designed to consolidate all PAN and TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number) services into a single, highly streamlined digital platform, thereby simplifying access and management of one of India’s core financial identity systems for both citizens and businesses alike.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing service delivery through digital channels, aligning with its broader e-governance strategy.

For this ambitious PAN 2.0 mandate, LTIMindtree will undertake a comprehensive role, encompassing the design, build, and operation of the entire technological backbone. This includes the crucial elements of infrastructure, robust security protocols, advanced automation, and ongoing operational management.
