Prestige Estates Projects Limited has revealed that the Directorate General of Goods & Services Tax (GST) Intelligence in Hyderabad has sent a show-cause notice to its subsidiary, M/s. Prestige Office Ventures.
The notice, received on 2 September 2025, alleges non-payment or short-payment of GST and non-reversal of Input Tax Credit for the period between February 2020 and March 2024.
According to the filing, the tax authority is demanding ₹160.82 Crores in GST, along with an equivalent amount as a penalty and applicable interest.
The notice requires the subsidiary to respond within 30 days to the Additional/Joint Commissioner of the Hyderabad CGST Commissionerate, providing an explanation as to why this amount does not fall under the liability provisions of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017 and, therefore, should not be demanded.
The company believes the demand is “not maintainable” and is currently evaluating the issue to determine its next steps. Importantly, the company has communicated that it “does not envisage any relevant impact on the financials, operations or other activities of the Company”.
