The Indian Stock market today experienced a slight upward momentum, with both benchmark indices registering modest gains by the close of today’s trading session. The NIFTY 50 concluded the day at 25,005.50, marking an increase of 32.40 points, or 0.13%.
Similarly, the BSE SENSEX also advanced, adding 123.58 points to close at 81,548.73, representing a gain of 0.15%. This performance signals a generally stable, albeit cautiously optimistic, sentiment across the broader market.
Among the NIFTY 50 constituents, several companies stood out with positive performances. Adani Enterprises emerged as a leading gainer, experiencing a notable rise of 2.90%.
Following closely, Shriram Finance also posted a strong showing, climbing by 2.55%. Other significant contributors to the day’s positive close included NTPC, which advanced by 1.80%, and Axis Bank, seeing an increase of 1.64%.
Conversely, some stocks within the NIFTY 50 faced downward pressure. Bajaj Auto recorded a decline of 1.35%, while Infosys also traded lower, dropping by 1.33% during the session.
Stock Market Today closing bell:
A look at sectoral performance revealed a mixed, yet largely positive, landscape. The NIFTY Media index was a particularly strong performer, registering a significant gain of 1.02%.
The NIFTY Oil & Gas sector also showed considerable strength, increasing by 1.10%. Public Sector Banks, as reflected by the NIFTY PSU Bank index, advanced by 0.74%, while the NIFTY Pharma and NIFTY Metal indices also saw positive movements of 0.46% and 0.34% respectively.
Furthermore, NIFTY Private Bank and NIFTY Healthcare Index also closed in positive territory.
However, certain sectors experienced a downturn. The NIFTY Midsmall Financial Services index witnessed a notable decline of 0.81%, and the NIFTY IT sector also closed lower by 0.50%.
The NIFTY Auto index posted a decline of 0.33%, and NIFTY Consumer Durables also ended the day in negative territory. Meanwhile, the NIFTY Realty index remained unchanged during the session.
Beyond the frontline indices, the broader market generally echoed the positive sentiment, with indices such as the NIFTY 100, NIFTY 200, and NIFTY 500 all closing marginally higher, indicating a slight expansion of gains across wider market segments.
