Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL), one of India’s largest integrated logistics solutions providers, announced a landmark partnership with L’Oréal India to launch the country’s first fully women-operated warehouse in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

This pioneering facility marks a significant structural shift in India’s logistics and supply chain sector, setting new standards for inclusivity and workforce participation.

The initiative places women in charge of end-to-end warehouse operations, reinforcing the operational strength of the logistics ecosystem and expanding meaningful representation in roles where women have historically had limited presence.

The move strengthens gender balance across critical functions and entrusts the female team with responsibilities that directly influence business performance.

The team operating the warehouse has undergone comprehensive preparation, including extensive training in self-defence, POSH guidelines, fire safety, first aid, and capability-building programmes designed to prepare them for leadership roles.

Operational Edge and Supply Chain Strategy:

The new facility is crucial for L’Oréal India’s regional strategy, supporting distribution across central India to major markets including Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Singrauli, Sagar, and Rewa, among others.

By consolidating L’Oréal’s extensive product line under a streamlined fulfilment framework, the warehouse strengthens regional outreach through improved service continuity, reduced transit times, and faster replenishment cycles.

The operation leverages Mahindra Logistics asset-light business model and customized, technology-enabled solutions. The warehouse is supported by Mahindra Logistics’ in-house Warehouse Management System (WMS), which is fully deployed to provide real-time visibility, accuracy, and operational discipline.

The platform integrates seamlessly with L’Oréal’s distribution requirements, facilitating stronger inventory control and optimized workflows.

Mahindra Logistics serves over 400 corporate customers across various industries, including Automobile, Engineering, Consumer Goods, and E-commerce, specializing in supply chain management and enterprise mobility.

Hemant Sikka, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Logistics Limited, commented that as India’s supply chain becomes more integrated and expands, increasing women’s participation in core operations is essential to broaden the talent pool necessary for building stronger and more capable logistics networks.

He stated that Mahindra Logistics and L’Oréal India have challenged long-standing norms by creating an environment designed to expand opportunities for women, reflecting a shared belief that inclusive teams drive stronger performance and innovation.

Arun Saravanakumar, Director – Supply Chain, L’Oréal India, described the launch of the first 100% women-operated warehouse as a landmark moment.

He highlighted that the initiative reflects L’Oréal’s commitment to gender parity in the workplace, providing women with equal opportunities and creating shared value in the communities. He stressed that building truly inclusive and diverse teams across the value chain is imperative to the company’s success.
