
The Indian stock market had a mixed session today. The Sensex closed lower at 82,330.59, down 200 points, while the Nifty 50 slipped 0.17% to end at 25,019.80. Investors booked profits in IT and banking names, while sectors like real estate and industrials held firm.
Nifty 50:
BEL led the gainers with a 3.82% rise. TATACONSUM gained 1.99%, BAJAJ-AUTO added 1.98%, ADANIENT rose 1.23%, and HINDUNILVR edged up 1.05%.
On the downside, BHARTIARTL dropped 2.83%, HCLTECH declined 2.06%, INFY lost 1.46%, and JSWSTEEL slipped 1.35%. SHRIRAMFIN and APOLLOHOSP also closed marginally lower.
Bank Nifty:
Among banks, CANBK was the top performer with a 2.42% gain. BANKBARODA rose 0.95% and PNB added 0.59%. The index had no major losers today, with most banking stocks trading flat or positive.

Nifty Next 50:
IRFC jumped 6.56%, followed by ADANIGREEN at 5.85%, and HAL gaining 5.15%. ADANIPOWER rose 4.22%, while BAJAJHLDNG and JSWENERGY posted solid gains around 3–3.5%.
Among the laggards, HAVELLS dropped 1.20%, PIDILITIND fell 1.15%, VBL slipped 0.96%, and ICICIGI ended 0.82% lower.
Overall, today’s market saw a slight pullback in the headline indices, but midcaps and smallcaps showed continued strength, reflecting selective buying in broader segments.
