NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a key subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has announced a major strategic partnership aimed at significantly expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector supporting India’s digital infrastructure.
The company successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CtrlS Datacenter Limited (CtrlS) on 31st October 2025, in New Delhi.
This collaboration is set to explore promising business opportunities focused on the extensive development of Renewable Energy (RE) Projects.
The scale of the planned deployment is substantial: the MoU outlines the development of RE Projects with a potential capacity of 2 GW (Gigawatts) or more.
The generated power is designated to supply RE RTC power (Renewable Energy Round-the-Clock power) to CtrlS Datacenters situated across a PAN India basis, primarily for their captive consumption.
For investors monitoring the energy and infrastructure sectors, this agreement highlights NGEL’s commitment to facilitating large-scale green energy transitions for major industrial consumers.
NGEL officially reported the signing to the stock exchanges, including the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited, listing the disclosure under the scrip codes NTPCGREEN and 544289, respectively. The company submitted a copy of the related press release detailing the MoU.
The agreement underscores the increasing trend among large energy consumers, such as data centres, to secure stable, sustainable, and high-capacity power sources to meet their operational demands.
The MoU was signed by Sh. Sarit Maheshwari, CEO (NGEL & NTPC REL) and Sh. Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder & Chairman, CtrlS Datacenter Ltd.
