Suzlon Energy has secured a 201.6 MW wind order from Waaree Group’s Independent Power Producer arm, Waaree Forever Energies, to be executed in Andhra Pradesh.
According to a BSE filing, this is Suzlon’s second consecutive DevCo-led EPC order within a week, signaling the industry’s shift towards DevCo as the preferred model for faster execution and project de-risking.
The project involves the installation of 64 Suzlon S144 wind turbine generators with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each. Suzlon will deliver its comprehensive EPC offering, covering land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant, commissioning, and lifetime operations and maintenance services.
Earlier, Suzlon had announced its plans to expand its presence in the renewable energy sector through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. This order adds to Suzlon‘s growing order book, which now stands close to 1 GW in Andhra Pradesh.
As part of the agreement, Suzlon will provide Waaree Forever Energies with a comprehensive suite of services, including project development, engineering, procurement, and construction. The contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process, reinforcing Suzlon‘s position as a leading player in the renewable energy sector.
