Suzlon Energy has secured a 400 MW wind energy project order from Tata Power Renewable Energy, according to a BSE filing.
This order brings the cumulative partnership between Suzlon and Tata Power to over 1 GW across four states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. The project will be executed in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
The project involves the supply of 127 flagship S144 wind turbine generators with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each. Suzlon will also deliver the project through its comprehensive EPC offering, covering land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP), Pooling substation (PSS), Extra High Voltage Line (EHV), commissioning, and operations & maintenance services.
Earlier, the company had received orders from Tata Power Renewable Energy for wind energy projects in other states.
This repeat order, awarded in less than 12 months, demonstrates the strong partnership between Suzlon and Tata Power. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will ensure timely execution and delivery of the project.
The order adds to Suzlon’s growing order book in Andhra Pradesh, which now stands close to 1 GW. Suzlon’s current installed base in Andhra Pradesh stands at 1.8 GW, contributing to 28.44% of Suzlon’s installed base in South India.
The company’s DevCo business model has enabled it to secure this large contract, demonstrating its capabilities in the renewable energy sector.
This order reinforces Suzlon’s position as a leading player in the renewable energy sector in India. With its strong execution capabilities and comprehensive EPC offerings, Suzlon is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for renewable energy in the country.
