Vikran Engineering Powers Up with ₹530.80 Crore Win for Maharashtra Power Infrastructure

Vikran Engineering Limited has announced a significant boost to its order book, securing two major Letters of Award (LoA) totaling ₹530.80 crore (excluding GST).

The contracts, awarded by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Limited (MSEDCL), focus on the development of distribution infrastructure and system strengthening in the Nashik and Kolhapur zones of Maharashtra.

The project is part of the Power Distribution Enhancement Program, which is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Vikran Engineering secured these contracts through a competitive national bidding process. The financial breakdown of the awards includes:

  • Nashik Zone: ₹235.63 Crore.
  • Kolhapur Zone: ₹295.17 Crore.

Both projects are to be executed on a turnkey basis, covering everything from site surveys and engineering to manufacturing, testing, and final commissioning. The company is expected to complete the work within a 21-month timeline from the date of the award.

The scope of work is comprehensive, aimed at modernising the regional power grid. Key deliverables include:

  • Construction of new 33/11 kV, 22/11 kV, and 33/22 kV Substations.
  • Installation of new transmission lines (33 kV, 22 kV, and 11 kV).
  • Augmentation of existing power transformers and substations.
  • Underground cabling (HT/LT) and GIS Mapping and Asset Tagging.

Rakesh Markhedkar, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikran Engineering, highlighted that these awards validate the company’s technical depth and execution track record. “These orders meaningfully strengthen our order book and position us well for sustained growth as we continue to contribute to Maharashtra’s power infrastructure development,” Markhedkar stated.

Vikran Engineering is rapidly emerging as a diversified player in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sector. With an asset-light model and a supply chain of over 3,500 vendors, the company has already successfully completed 45 projects across 14 states.

This latest win further cements Vikran’s status as a key contributor to India’s broader energy access ambitions, providing a strong signal to investors regarding the company’s project management capabilities and future growth trajectory.
