GK Energy Limited, recognized as India’s largest pure-play engineering, procurement, and commissioning (EPC) service provider for solar-powered agricultural water pump systems, announced a significant achievement in Maharashtra’s renewable energy sector.
The company successfully installed 7,620 off-grid solar pumps, contributing approximately 17% of the total 45,911 solar pumps installed under the Guinness World Record initiative achieved by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
This impressive delivery of installations was executed within an intensive 30-day window, running from 27 October 2025, to 25 November 2025. This rapid deployment demonstrates GK Energy’s substantial execution capability, operational excellence, and scale.
The installations were conducted as part of the Government of Maharashtra’s flagship programme, the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, which aims to promote off-grid solar-powered irrigation systems.
Beyond its role as a vendor, GK Energy also served as the Strategic Advisor to MSEDCL, undertaking a critical role in coordinating and enabling the end-to-end execution of this record-breaking project.
The advisory function covered concept development, strategy development, planning, co-ordination, documentation, framework design, and stakeholder management, all necessary to ensure successful accomplishment.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Gopal Kabra, CMD & CEO of GK Energy Limited, expressed gratitude to MSEDCL for entrusting the company with the dual role of Strategic Advisor and Vendor. Mr. Kabra stated that contributing nearly 17% of the total installations within the specified 30-day timeframe is a strong testament to the company’s execution strength and commitment.
He further noted that the advisory role reflects the significant trust placed in GK Energy by MSEDCL and the Government of Maharashtra.
The initiative is poised to enhance Maharashtra’s solar irrigation ecosystem by reducing reliance on diesel and grid electricity, which, in turn, is expected to lower energy costs for farmers and enable reliable daytime irrigation.
GK Energy Limited, which provides end-to-end solutions spanning design, supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance, remains focused on enabling decentralized, scalable solar solutions to support sustainable agriculture in rural India.
Jeevan Santoshkumar Innani, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, signed this release. The disclosure was made as a Press Release – General updates, dated 8th December 2025.
