Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a significant surge in sales for September 2025, posting a 10% increase in total monthly sales compared to the same period last year.
The automotive giant sold a total of 70,347 units, up from 64,201 units in September 2024. The company attributes this strong performance to the recently introduced GST 2.0 reforms, vibrant festive season demand, and robust customer interest across its vehicle segments.
Record-Breaking SUV Sales Dominate Domestic Market:
In the domestic market, HMIL reported sales of 51,547 units. The standout story for the month was the exceptional performance of its SUV lineup, which achieved its highest-ever sales penetration in the company’s history at 72.4%. This translates to 37,313 SUVs sold in India in a single month.
The Hyundai CRETA, which set a new benchmark with its highest-ever monthly sales of 18,861 units.
The Hyundai VENUE, which recorded its best performance in 20 months, selling 11,484 units.
Commenting on the sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director & Chief Operating Officer of HMIL, credited the government for the “transformative GST 2.0 reforms, which have given wings to the aspirations of millions of people”.
He described the parallel growth in local and international sales as a “true double-engine growth” for the company.
HMIL also demonstrated remarkable growth in its export operations, underscoring its strategic importance as a global manufacturing hub for Hyundai Motor Company.
Exports for September 2025 soared by nearly 44% year-over-year to 18,800 units, the highest monthly export volume the company has seen in the past 33 months.
