Natco Pharma Acquires 13.25% Stake in Adcock Ingram

Natco Pharma Limited has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of an additional 13.25% equity stake in Adcock Ingram Holdings Proprietary Limited, a leading South African pharmaceutical and healthcare company.

The acquisition was completed through Natco Pharma South Africa Proprietary Limited, Natco’s wholly owned subsidiary in South Africa, for an aggregate consideration of around ₹1,060 crores. This information is based on a BSE filing by the company.

The completion of this transaction marks another significant milestone in Natco’s long-term Africa strategy. Natco first acquired 35.75% in Adcock Ingram through its participation in the Adcock Ingram’s delisting process in 2025. The company’s Board further approved the acquisition of an additional 13.25% stake in July 2026.

The acquisition increases Natco’s shareholding in Adcock Ingram from 35.75% to 49%. Adcock Ingram is a South African pharmaceutical company established in 1891 and ranked 2nd in the private and public pharmaceutical market in South Africa.

The company manufactures, markets, and distributes healthcare products to both the private and public sectors of the market.

As part of the agreement, Natco will continue to expand its presence in the African market. The company has a particular focus on delivering quality medicines in oncology, cardiology, neurology, and other high-value therapeutic categories. Natco Pharma exports its products to more than 50 countries worldwide, including the USA, Brazil, and Canada.

The order adds to Natco’s growing portfolio of pharmaceutical products and strengthens its position in the global market. This acquisition reinforces Natco’s position as a leading player in the pharmaceutical sector.
