Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the Indian multinational engineering and construction powerhouse, has announced a significant boost to its international order book.

The company’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure business vertical has secured a “Major” contract from the Royal Commission of Riyadh City for the extension of the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia,.

Classified by the company as a “Major” win, the contract is valued between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore. This order is part of an expansive “ultra-mega” project executed by a high-profile international consortium that includes Webuild S.p.A, Nesma & Partners Contracting, Alstom, and IDOM, alongside L&T.

The project specifically involves the extension of the Red Line of the Riyadh Metro Network.

The comprehensive scope of work includes the design and turnkey construction of an 8.4 km long metro line, featuring both elevated and underground sections, as well as the development of five new stations.
